Terms of Use

Effective for: the YurUp mobile application on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and YurUp (“YurUp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated in connection with GovCom Solutions (govcomsolutions.com). By downloading, accessing, or using YurUp, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The Service

YurUp provides software for coordinating shared household activities, including:

• Chores (assignments, rotation, streaks, and reminders)
• Shared expenses and splits (including optional receipt scanning)
• Household chat, polls, and Order Squads
• Chore Court (household disputes and related penalties)
• An AI assistant (“Tidy”) for household help and summaries
• Paid subscriptions that unlock higher limits and features

Features may change, be added, or be removed with updates. The service depends on third-party platforms and providers (including Google Firebase, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Groq). Outages or policy changes by those providers may affect availability.

YurUp is a coordination and recordkeeping tool. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice. Tidy suggestions are informational only. Expense balances shown in the app are based on user input; users remain responsible for settling real-world debts outside the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use YurUp. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and have capacity to accept these Terms.

If you use YurUp in a shared household, you understand that other members may see content you add according to the app’s features.

3. Accounts and Authentication

• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information, including date of birth for age verification.
• You may sign in with email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple, subject to those providers’ terms.
• Some accounts may use multi-factor authentication (SMS and/or TOTP) via Firebase Authentication.
• Email verification may be required before certain features are available.
• You must not share credentials or impersonate another person.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security or legal risk.

4. Households and Shared Content

When you create or join a household:

• Other members may see content you add (chores, expenses, messages, court cases, polls, Order Squads, Tidy reports, and similar data).
• Household admins may have additional controls over membership and certain settings.
• You are responsible for what you share and for joining only households you are authorized to join.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation.
• Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other users.
• Upload or transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
• Use the app to violate others’ rights.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or automate access except as permitted by law.
• Circumvent subscription limits, quotas, age gates, or security measures (including MFA).

We may remove content or restrict access when we reasonably believe these rules have been violated.

6. AI Features (Tidy and Receipt Scanning)

YurUp may send prompts, household context, and receipt images to third-party AI providers (currently Groq) to generate responses or parse receipts. AI use is also described in our Privacy Policy.

• AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete; verify important information before acting on it.
• Do not rely on Tidy for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
• Do not submit unlawful or highly sensitive personal data in prompts unless you accept the processing described in the Privacy Policy.
• Voice input for Tidy may be unavailable in some app versions.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features require a paid subscription (for example Pro or Elite).

• Billing: Paid plans are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, not directly by YurUp.
• Trials, renewals, cancellations, and refunds follow the applicable store’s rules.
• Manage subscriptions in your App Store or Play Store account settings. Deleting your YurUp account does not automatically cancel a store subscription.
• Entitlements: Subscription status is synced via RevenueCat and applied to your household for feature access and usage limits.
• Usage limits: Free and paid tiers may include monthly limits (for example expenses, receipt scans, AI commands, Order Squads, or household size). Attempts to bypass limits may result in restriction or termination.

8. Intellectual Property

YurUp, its branding, software, and content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app or our materials to you.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and process that content as needed to operate the service, including syncing with household members and running AI features you request.

9. Third-Party Services

Your use of third-party sign-in, payment, cloud, messaging, and AI services is subject to those providers’ terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

10. App Store Terms

If you download YurUp from the Apple App Store or Google Play:

• These Terms are between you and YurUp, not Apple or Google.
• Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for YurUp.
• To the extent permitted, Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple or Google as provided under their policies; they have no other warranty obligations for YurUp beyond what their store rules require.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YURUP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that household outcomes (chores, expenses, disputes, or AI suggestions) will meet your expectations.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, funds, or household disputes arising from use of the app.
• Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YurUp and our affiliates, officers, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of others’ rights.

14. Account Deletion and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or operational reasons.

You may stop using the app at any time and may delete your account in Settings or by emailing advaith@govcomsolutions.com. Account deletion details, including data that may remain in shared households, are described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app or your YurUp account does not cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms at this URL and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence require otherwise.

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at advaith@govcomsolutions.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.

If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and we agree that exclusive venue for any judicial proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts, except where prohibited by applicable consumer law.

Nothing in this section limits either party from seeking temporary injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information, or rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

17. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service and supersede prior agreements on the same subject.
• Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
